Marjorie Mikasen, Artist

I am an abstract, geometric, "hard-edge" acrylic painter. Though originally from Chicago, I spent my formative years in Minneapolis / St.Paul where I received my B.A. in Studio Arts at the University of Minnesota in 1981. After four years in Denver, Colorado, I relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1990.

My work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Nebraska and in over 100 group exhibitions in 21 states, Canada, the UK, and Hungary.

I received an Individual Artist Fellowship Award from the Nebraska Arts Council
and am involved in a book project that has been awarded an
Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Officer Grant

in the area of Public Understanding of Science.

My work has been the subject of a Voice of America TV interview
and is in the Permanent Collection of the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery
